There are a lot of ways to write a Haiku, and since we at Dungeon Overlord™ aren't exactly conventionalists, feel free to get creative.
However, the most well known way, and a safe bet, is to use three lines, of 5-7-5 syllables.

Rules and Regulations
You are at the mercy of the Dungeon Overlord team. A group of impartial staff will review the submissions, and choose winners from each server world. Entries will be judged on style, content, and how well they embody the spirit of Dungeon Overlord!
Players on all Dungeon Overlord server worlds are invited to begin submitting their poems at any time after Friday, September 20, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. CDT (1:00 p.m. EDT, 6:00 p.m. GMT). The contest will run until Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. CDT (12:59 a.m. EDT, 5:59 a.m. GMT).
Entries will be judged and Winning Overlords announced on Friday September 27th, with prize distribution to follow. There will be three winners for each server world.
- 5 Ponder Slate Recipes, 5 Inspection Chalkboard Recipes, and 5 Investigative Blackboard Recipes
- 80 Ashen Stone, 1,700 Moonstone, 6,000 Primordial Fire, 50 Feldspar, 800 Iron, 1,200 Crystal, 100,000 Gold
- 5 Ponder Slate Recipes, 3 Inspection Chalkboard Recipes, and 2 Investigative Blackboard Recipes
- 50 Ashen Stone, 1,050 Moonstone, 3,500 Primordial Fire, 25 Feldspar, 800 Iron, 1,200 Crystal, 75,000 Gold
- 5 Ponder Slate Recipes, 2 Inspection Chalkboard Recipes, and 1 Investigative Blackboard Recipes
- 20 Ashen Stone, 400 Moonstone, 1,000 Primordial Fire, 800 Iron, 1,200 Crystal, 50,000 Gold
- Players may submit multiple times, for each server world they play on. There is no limit to submissions.
- Each player may only win once. Even if you enter several submissions, and do so under different overlord names on different server worlds, you will only be awarded one prize. Please be honest about this, and give everyone a chance to win. Prizes are not transferable.
- "Overlord Name" refers to the name you use in-game, please make sure you type this correctly, it will be used, along with your email address, to identify you in-game.
- All submissions will be reviewed impartially. Winners are chosen at the sole discretion of Night Owl Games®
